Zebeda Rekhviashvili is the kind of man that we want to be friend, that we prefer in our team. Georgia has very well understood that. Zebeda, born February 16th, 1991 near Tbilisi, took part to all the victorious campaigns of his country. Four times European Team champion (2012, 2013, 2014, 2017), he is also World Team champion in 2013 (3rd in 2012 and 2014).
But not only… European Cadet champion in 2007, 3rd at the 2010 Junior Worlds, the Georgian also ranked 3rd at the 2013 European championships (U73 kg). He also made a name thanks to his special : the Flying Juji Gatame, that regularly ignites the assistance.
In 2014, he decides to change weight category and fights in U81 kg. The Ilias Iliadis’ protégé, who trains with him, has since earned seven podiums at the IJF World Tour, including a 2nd place in Paris and a 3rd one in Ekaterinburg in 2017.
At the Budapest Worlds, Zebeda Rekhviashvili left the mat early, in the 8th finals, which earned him a resounding sermon from Master Ilias… At 26, the Adidas Team member has been appearing in the World Top 15 for years. With Ilias Iliadis as a Sensei, Zebeda could soon shake up the hierarchy. He definitley has the talent.
