Zabiollah Poorshab is the archetype of the Persian warrior, a fighter who combines efficiency with aesthetics, robustness with finesse. In the Iranian national team, he’s the boss. Not only because he is the elder, but also by his personality and his record. He is the leader of this fabulous 3-times World team champion (2014 to 2018), which has also won 5 of the 10 continental titles awarded in the last 10 years.
In individual, Zabiollah Poorshab (-84 kg) has shown exceptional consistency. Winner of the World Games in 2017, Asian champion in 2019, 3rd of the World championships in 2016 and 2018, he also has 21 podiums including 6 wins in Karate 1 !
Ranked n°2 in the final Olympic standing, he is unfortunately for him not qualify for the Olympic Games because his compatriot Sajad Ganjzadeh, 3rd in this same ranking but 1st in the +84 kg, will be the Iranian representative in Tokyo. However, when the Olympic ranking was stopped due to the pandemic, he remained on 6 finals in 9 tournaments, including 4 wins (Asian championship, K1 Moscow, Santiago and Dubai).
