Enzo Montarello is the new herald of the French Kata. At 24 years old, he dreams of becoming the hero. The first step : to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics. An ambitious bet but not crazy. In Kata, that’s how it works, you have to let time do its work, that referees’ gets used to see you, and the native of Marseille is a « minot » (baby in Marseille’s language) but he is in the tradition of the successfull French school.
Two times U21 European champion in 2012 and 2015, U21 World runner-up in 2013, Enzo Montarello was firstly known through the Senior team. The trio he formed with Lucas Jeannot and Ahmed Zemouri made a killing. European champions in 2016, 3rd in 2015 and 2017, the three French Kata men became World silver medalists in 2016 in Linz, only beaten by the untouchable Japanese team.
It was only after these Worlds that Enzo Montarello became the France’s representative in the individuals. From then on, he won the two French national championships awarded and he has been working hard, physically and technically. His strategy ? Like the ant, reach his destination slowly but surely, He is on his way to make his dream coming true.
