AUDREY TCHEUMÉO

Her records are as much impressive as her sense of humour and her volubility ! Imagine… Since 2007, year of her 1st win in the Junior division, Audrey Tcheumeo has won 25 (!) Gold medals in all international competitions, to which we should add 24 podiums. And, most of the time, she did it thanks to a brilliant Judo. « Tchoum », it’s Ippon woman ! And, fortunately for her opponents, she only started Judo when she was 14.

Unfortunately for them, she was born to be a champion. Born on April 20th 1990, near Paris, she is the daughter of a professional soccer player, who was in the cameroonian national team in the 80’s. On her side, her mother was in the handball national team. Her stepsister, Antoinette Djimou, was the 2011 pentathlon European champion.

Audrey Tcheumeo did better than them ! She has won 7 European championships (2 in U21, 1 in U23 and 4 in Senior division, including 2016 and 2017), 1 World title in 2011 (2nd in 2014, 3rd in 2013), 10 World Tour tournaments (6 Grand-Prix, 4 Grand Slam, including Paris in 2017) and 2 olympic medals.

3rd in London 2012, the French woman won the silver medal in the 2016 Rio’s Games (U78 kg), beaten by US Harrison in the final. The Olympic Gold is the only one that runs away from her. At the 2020 Games, in Tokyo, the Adidas Team member will be 30 years old. 3rd in 2012, 2nd in 2016, 1st in 2020 ? A certain amount of logics would be applied, the one of her great talent that deserves to be decked with the Olympic Gold.
