European Champion in 2010, European silver medalist in 2018. You could believe that Aaron Cook’s career is a long calm river at the tops of Taekwondo. This was right until 2012.
Junior European champion in 2007 and Junior World champion the following year, the Dorset confirms all the hopes placed in him. A semi-finalist of the Beijing Games in 2008, at the age of 17, where he is short the bronze medal, two-time European Senior champion (2010 and 2012), Aaron Cook is ranked World n°1 several times and precisely ahead of the 2012 Olympic Games.
But, against all odds, he wasn’t selected to represent Britain at the London Olympics. He will try everything to change this decision but nothing will do. Many would not have recovered. Although the injury will never heal, he bounced back at the Isle of Man, under whose colors he won his only Grand-Prix so far (Suzhou 2014).
Then our man continues his adventure under the banner of Moldova from 2015. At the 2015 World championships, at 24, he won the bronze medal and then qualified for the Rio Olympics where he lost in the last 16.
3rd at the 2016 European championships, he won a new World bronze medal in 2017. In 2018, he played his 4th continental final and gets to the Olympic sprint to Tokyo as silver European medalist.
