They were 8 of them in the last century. They are thousands today. The number of BJJ followers has been steadily developping for the last 20 years in France. It all started in the « Cercle Tissier », near Paris, where those pioneers had invited Rickson Gracie. We are in 1995. The French lacked a guide. They docked to the international Brazilian Jiu Jitsu flagship. The French BJJ was launched. Flashback on and with the glorious elders of the European Jiu Jitsu.

The American movie maker Amar Singh Kaleka, a 2 times Emmy Awards winner, chose the Bittan Academy to host one episode of his documentary series produced by Netflix, « BJJ for Change ».

A proud and an acknowledgment for French pioneer Patrick Bittan, one the 1st BJJ black belt in Europe. For the occasion, he organized a big 4 days seminar with great champions such as Roberto Drysdale and Braulio Estima. Great Master Flavio Behring, 9th Dan also appeared. An unforgettable event !

Brandon Walensky is a lucky man ! But he is not only, of course. In fact, he is mainly brave and gifted. He is first lucky because he could begin Judo (at 12) and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (at 16) with Mister Paulo Fernando himself, in San Diego (California). The Mestre will give him his Judo black belt and his purple one in BJJ the same day of 2011.
