What have you learned from the Madrid’s World championchips ?
The result of the World’s was not as I wanted. Already in round two, the dream of a World medal was over for me. As always, you learn from your mistakes and do better in the future.
What happened ?
What happened ?… This is the main question !!! It was not one big mistake I made. There were 2-3 small factors that I might not be able to fulfill as I usually do.
What have you done since ?
I analyzed the World championships with my coaches, the negative as well as the positive things. After the Serie A Tournament in Shanghai, I took a little break for Christmas. And, from new year, I trained focused and full of energy for the next tournaments.
The season is going to be very long. How is your preparation scheduled ?
Yes, the season will be very long, as it was last year. The most important thing will be to give your body enough regeneration between the tournaments. Only in this way, I think it is possible to train at the highest level and to perform at every tournament at the highest level.
What is your state of mind while beginning 2019 ?
I am happy and looking forward to the competitions of the year. Tokyo 2020 is finally getting closer. I’m ready and very happy. I’m ready to give more than before and I also want to achieve many medals. I always want to keep my joy that I have with karate and of course stay healthy.
How do you consider this Paris Premier League ?
Winning a Premier League tournament is always a goal for me. I like the atmosphere at the Paris Premier League every year. With a view to the Olympic Games, it is of course another step we have made.
