7th podium and 3rd win of the year for Jonathan Horne (+84 kg). After his success in Rotterdam last March and, of course, in Madrid in November at the World Championships, Jonathan Horne struck again in Shanghai by winning the Serie A. After defeating Turkey’s Kaptan, Belgium’s Costa and Iran’s Ashourigarmjani, the German champion dominated Lardy of Netherlands in the final (2-1).

Brazil’s Vinicius Figueira (-67 kg) is also in great shape. Silver medalist of the last Worlds, he played in Shanghai his fifth final of the year 2018 but he had to bow to Egypt’s Ismail. Previously, he had eliminated the former -60 kg World champion, Amir Mehdizadeh, who fought in -67 kg for the occasion. The Iranian champion then got the bronze.

The final medal for the adidas Team was won by Valeria Kumizaki (-55 kg). Defeated by Japan’s Ishiai in the semi-final, she then defeated Taiwan’s Wen for the bronze medal.
